According to some, bread and keto don’t mix. This misconception is common enough that people actually think it’s true! Let me assure you right now that this isn’t the case. In fact, just like regular carb-y bread, you’ll find many recipes for keto-friendly bread. And today, we’re sharing one of the easiest keto bread recipes ever! How To Make Delicious Keto Bread Buns
1

Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking pan with parchment paper.

Step 1 – heat up the oven

2

Mix all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and knead slightly to get a workable dough. You can start with the wet ingredients first (olive oil + eggs) before adding the dry ingredients to the mix (almond flour, baking powder, and salt).

Alternatively, you can use a food processor or hand mixer to blend all the ingredients together and form a dough. This will help save you some time, too.

Step 2 – mix the keto bread ingredients

3

Shape the dough into buns. Note that the bread isn't going to rise like normal bread, so you must shape it into its final intended form. So, if you’re thinking of using it as a burger bun, make it fluffy and tall since you’ll be slicing it in half. Once you’ve shaped it, place on the prepared baking tin.

Step 3 – shape the dough into buns

4

Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown. To test if bread is done, you can poke it with a toothpick. If it comes out cleanly, the bread is cooked. Otherwise, put it back in the oven and give it a few more minutes in the heat.

Tip: Ovens vary in power, so keep an eye on it. The last thing you want is burnt keto bread!

Step 4 – bake for 10 minutes

So many ways to enjoy this low carb bread!

What can you do with this bread apart from slathering some butter, cream cheese, keto-friendly peanut butter, or sugar-free fruit jams on it? Hmmm… how about slicing it in half and placing a well-cooked patty in between, along with a slice of cheese, low carb mayo, tomato, and all the other things that go on burgers?

I mean, how long has it been since you’ve had a real burger? If you’ve been on keto for a while, chances are you probably can’t even remember! So, here’s the good news – this recipe right here is perfect for people who crave a good burger without the extra carbs!

Alternatively, you can also eat the bread with some Keto Mushroom Soup. It’s a thick soup so it would be perfect for dunking a piece of bread in. Give it a try and let us know in the comments if you like this suggested pairing.

Does this taste like real bread?

Well, I’m not going to mince words here. This recipe will produce something that looks like bread, but it’s not going to taste like the bread you’re used to. This bread is yeast and gluten-free, so it won’t have the distinctive aroma and flavor associated with yeast. But worry not! This bread is still delicious in its own right and will certainly keep your tummy happy!

Can I use other oils instead of olive oil?

Sure, feel free to use other types of oils to make this keto bread. If you prefer a slightly coconutty flavor, use coconut oil. If you want a more neutral taste, MCT oil would be a good choice as it has no taste or smell (it’s great for making bulletproof coffee, too). Macronutrient-wise, there isn’t a lot of difference between olive, coconut, and MCT oils, so it all boils down to your preference.

How to store this bread?

At room temperature, you can store this bread in an airtight bread container, and it will be good for about 3 days. In the fridge, about a week. And in the freezer, this will easily last months!

What other low carb bread can I have on the keto diet?
